Sometimes a product is so great that I am at a loss as to where to start when it comes to writing about it. How do I decide what aspects of the product is so good to mention first? This is one of those times...

Why I'm Considering Cancelling My MAC Pro Membership
As you know I am principally a Make-up Artist who uses organic products, however, as I have said in the past, it is still necessary in the course of my work to occasionally use products that are not natural or organic. When this is the case, I have certain strict criteria that products and brands must meet in order for me to use them - hence there are some big-name professional brands that you simply won't find in my kit.
Principally I insist that the products I use are cruelty-free. As such I have always avoided products tested on animals or products which knowingly contain ingredients tested on animals. I took this stance when I began wearing make-up in my early teens and I certainly don't intend to change it now.

Concealing The Truth
One of my greatest organic make-up frustrations is the lack of variety of shades in concealers and often find myself having to plump for a non-organic product when I need to use certain colours. This sounds silly I know, but as a Make-up Artist I work on a whole range of clients and it is vital that I can cover every blemish and imperfection when necessary, regardless of the skin tone of the individual.

Behind The Brand: Priti NYC
As we know it is currently impossible for nail polish to be organic, however there are an ever growing number of brands available on the market that have been created without the carcinogenic nasties found in traditional polishes. One of my favourites amongst the non-toxic ranges has to be Priti NYC.

Brushes: e.l.f
A great option if you are buying eco make-up brushes on a budget, are the Bamboo brushes from the e.l.f mineral make-up collection.

The Eyes Have It
terre d'Oc Natural Kohl Eyeliner
Eyeliner is one of this seasons key make-up trends and this one is for me is a real winner! Ok, it does look a little bit scary at first glance, however think of it as a wax crayon; pretty foolproof (although this probably tastes nicer!).

Fairtrade And Beautiful
With it being Fairtrade Fortnight, I decided to look a little closer at one of my favourite organic (and fairly traded) make-up brands, Elysambre. The company have a unique approach to the way in which they package their products and the overall wider impact that their make-up packaging has on the planet and it's inhabitants.

Lips and cheeks
Make-up bags are getting heavier and heavier as we add ever more 'must-have' products to our kits, so any product that is multi-purpose is a welcome addition.

Fairtrade Fortnight 2012
A slight deviation from make-up products today, as this week sees the start of Fairtrade Fortnight.
Running from the 27th February - 11th March, Fairtrade Fortnight highlights the plight of farmers and workers in the developing world and encourages individuals and businesses alike to take action.
