Purple Haze

Purple eyeshadow was everywhere earlier this year and although some of the shadow quads available on the high street were for me slightly reminiscent of the 1980's, I still thought they were great. But what do you do if you love the idea of following a trend but can't quite summon up the courage to take the plunge and live in a purple haze...?

Kjaer Weis Eyeshadow in Pretty Purple

If you decide that violent purples aren't for you, then this softer option from New York based Make-up Artist Kirsten Kjaer Weis may be for you. Perfect for adding a subtle touch of colour to your eye make-up.

A beautiful muted purple with delicate purple and pink irridencent particles, it doesn't look overly purple-y or sparkley, making it a great shadow to wear to work during the day or to add a slight twist to a traditional smokey eye. KW eyeshadows are all designed to work with any skin tone, on me the shadow comes out as more of a mauve toned taupe (see below), however it does seem to vary from person to person.

Pretty Purple, like all Kjaer Weis shadows builds up well and although this is most definitely a powder shadow, there is a slightly creaminess on blending, making it easy to apply and blend with other shades.

I have said it before but I will say it again, the packaging is beautiful. Designed as a refillable system, you can just purchase refills of these shadows and store them in a palette, however these solid metal alloy cases are design classics and something that, in my mind should be invested in when you buy your first KW product. It's silly I know, but I can't bare to put my KW compacts in my kit for fear of scratching them...

Priced at £14.00 for a refill and £30.00 for the compact, Kjaer Weis eyeshadows are available online from Naturisimo

    1. Hey Lara
It's beautiful isn't it? It's definitely more purpled toned than Wisdom. Wisdom is more taupe I would say. Both beautiful however :)
