Top Five: Orange shadows

One of the eye colours that reigned the catwalks at this the Autumn/Winter 2013 fashion weeks is orange. Whether from the runways of Givenchy and Altuzarra, it was worn simply; a wash over the lids into the crease or lining the undereye.

Possibly not the first choice for most of us but whether it's down to the tone, the way you apply it or simply how daring you are, believe it or not orange eyeshadow can be a very wearable colour. Why not give it a go?

I've not given myself an easy task with this one as there are very few natural and organic shadows in the orange spectrum available on the market, but here are my Top Five orange eyeshadows and with a variety of tones, textures and finishes, hopefully there will be one in here for you...

alva Green Equinox in May I?

A rich, deep coral with a satin finish, this is a stunning colour that can be applied as is or on top of a eye primer or with a damp brush for even more impact. Just one question... May I?

£7.50 from alva

Concrete Minerals Pro Matte Eyeshadow in Ember

Warning! This eyeshadow is not for the feignt hearted. A vibrant matte orange that packs a real punch. Free from talc, Parabens and bismuth oxychloride, Ember (like all Concrete minerals) easy to blend and has fantastic staying power.

Zuii Organic Flora Eyeshadow in Brownie

A little more understated than most of the others in this list, Brownie is a lovely rust toned orange and the only pressed shadow I've included in this list. Smooth creamy in texture, it is easy to wear for the less daring amongst us and has a sheer, slightly metallic finish.

£14.50 from Macrobiotic Shop / Aus$ 21.75 from Zuii

Cheeky Cosmetics in Orange Crush

One of an amazing 55 shades, Orange Crush is a sheer, sparkly orange that when applied with a damp brush (I process called foiling I have recently found out) becomes a bright metallic citrus.

Earthnicity Minerals in Orange Pop

Orange Pop is a slightly earthier orange than the others, however it is no less impressive. A matte coral orange, there is definitely a Mediterranean vibe going on and I love it!
