Never one to go too long without mentioning a make-up brush I felt it was time to share my thoughts on what is possibly one of cutest make-up brushes on the planet...
Kabuki Brush No 1 from Earthnicity Minerals
I mean it when I say it is possibly one of the cutest brushes on the planet (is it just me that thinks it looks like a curled up baby hedgehog..?). Despite its somewhat imposing image on the Earthnicity website, in the flesh this kabuki is utterly dinky! As small a standard lipstick tube in fact (I have used an Ilia Beauty one to demonstrate this fact); it is the perfect size for fitting into a make-up bag on a night out or on ho.
The synthetic bristles are densely packed and feel luxuriously soft on the skin - even with vigorous application. I have used this Kabuki for applying loose foundation, powder (pressed and loose), blush and bronzer and it does it all with ease. It picks up and holds large amounts of product but distributes it evenly whether using circular or sweeping motions.
The handle is short but not too short; long enough to hold without feeling fiddly (although I admit to having very small hands) and it is weighty enough to stand securely on its end without risk of toppling over.
And it looks like a baby hedgehog...
