After a slight hiatus in my blog for one reason or another, 2012 brings a new batch of organic make-up postings.
Dr Hauschka Natural Mascara
Dr Hauschka Natural Mascara
I have always had problems finding a mascara I am happy with; too thick, too dry, debris and fallout and eye irritation are results that we have all faced whilst working our way through the myriad of tube mascaras on the shelves.
Over time I will mention a few different organic mascaras in my blog, but I will start with this; one of my first discoveries on the road to 'make-up kit green-ness' was the Dr Hauschka Natural Mascara and I have been in love ever since.
Not one for the gloopy-lash lovers amongst you, this is a fantastic, natural looking mascara, perfect for adding subtle definition and lengthening the lashes. Great for 'no make-up' and period looks, I have used this mascara on photoshoots and broadcast jobs.
The brush is fairly traditional in it's shape and bristle density, coating the lashes evenly. As the mascara itself isn't particularly thick and has a natural look, you do need to apply a couple of coats, however, if you are prepared to work at it, you can easily build up the coats to produce a thicker finish.
One of two mascaras from Dr Hauschka, the natural mascara has a delicate rose scent and is available in three colours; chocolatey brown, deep blue (my favourite!) and a soft black. It is also suitable for both contact lens wearers and those with sensitive eyes.
As with most natural and organic mascaras this is not waterproof and it does have a tendency to leave little trails and blobs of colour around your eyes if you get caught in the rain, however, if like me, you don't mind the slightly smudged look on a damp day then it does make for a great organic natural lash option.
