Bridal Skincare - Part Two

As you know I recently wrote a series of guest blog posts on natural and organic skincare for The Natural Wedding Company. I thoroughly enjoyed writing the posts, skincare isn't something I have written about before and so it really was a whole new world...

Bridal Skincare - Part One

I was recently asked if I would be interested in contributing a series of natural and organic skincare posts to The Natural Wedding Company blog. This is a fantastic opportunity to share my passion for natural and organic products with a wider audience and I feel honoured and excited to have been approached.

Stick It!

When it comes to applying false lashes, there is one product that dominates more than any other and is glue of choice for most Make-up Artists. Sadly the adhesive concerned (I'm not going to mention names here) is not only latex based but, possibly more importantly, contains the chemical Formaldehyde which, as we are aware is incredibly toxic and a known carcinogen.

I have been on the hunt for a reliable latex-free lash glue for a while; having a latex-free alternative in my kit is important, but finding one which also lacks formaldehyde has been problematic (certainly here in the UK).

From The Album

Today I thought I would share with you a couple of images from a vintage photoshoot that I worked on late last year; two different make-ups, inspired by Jazz icon Ella Fitzgerald, all created using organic and natural products.

Keep 'Em Clean: Bentley Organic

Bentley Organic Moisturising Hand Sanitizer

Soil Association certified, Bentley Organic Hand Sanitizer is an antibacterial foaming mousse that kills 99.9% of germs and has been rigorously tested against both viruses and bacterias.

Bentley Hand Sanitiser
Unscented, it is free from alcohol and parabens and contains moisturising Aloe Vera so is very gentle on your skin - ideal when moving from one artist to another on set means repeated use!

Available in a 50ml pump bottle, you get approximately 125 applications per bottle. I have used Bentley Sanitizer for a while and would say that 2 pumps is adequate to give you good clean hands with no residue or stickiness.

Prices do vary, but it is usually around £3.00.

Available in the UK from (amongst others) good health food stores
