Resolutions

The dawning of each new year is a great opportunity to put things behind you, take stock and start afresh. As 2012 ends, it is once again time to think about all the things we will try to do (or not do as the case may be) and make our new years resolutions..

Paper Cuts

Ok. This post is a little bit of a cheat but I love these so much I wanted to share them with you. Not specifically natural or organic, but being made from paper, they are considered an Eco product, even making an appearance at the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris over the summer... Intrigued?

Line Them Up

Sometimes you find you have a real love for a product and others are like ships in the night and simply pass through your kit without a care or second thought (or re-purchase). This next product falls into the former, a product that I use again and again, will always recommend to others and is well and truly a mainstay of my pro kit...

Behind The Brand: Lavera

Continuing my series on natural and organic brands, the spotlight today falls on multi-award winning cosmetics, haircare and skincare company Lavera. Considering they are celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, it seems only apt.

One Year On...

Just over a year ago I wrote my first blog post. Time has flown and I can't believe a year has passed so quickly! I actually overlooked the actual anniversary in late August and so thought I'd celebrate now and take a moment to reflect - albeit belatedly...

Mineral Magic

I have a real love of liquid foundations over any other type; I love the painterly way they are applied with a brush, the way different tones and products can be mixed to produce the base of your choice and they way they look on the skin and it is because of this that I came upon mineral foundations in their true state a lot later than I did other natural cosmetics. The idea that mineral powders would give a finish that would stand up against my favourite liquids left me sceptical.

Top Five: Multi-tonal Eyes

There are a couple of looks that truly stand out for me this Autumn/Winter season and one of them is the beautiful multi-tonal eye, such as this gorgeous Pat McGrath creation for the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2012 show.

With just under a fortnight until autumn officially starts, I'm turning up the heat and sharing the last of my top five of Summer 2012 trends; hot, neon nails (and of course, they are all five-free!)

It's No Green-Wash

I was recently asked if I would like to try some of the make-up products from alva, a German skincare and cosmetics brand. Always looking to find new and exciting products, I leapt at the chance and boy, am I glad I did! This post brings another multipurpose, space saving, must-have product for your kit - it's getting to be a habit I know, but this one may just top the rest...

Prime Time

I often find that using foundation as a base for eye make-up can make the lid look and feel a little heavy and so, on occasion, I like to use an Eyeshadow or Eye Primer before applying eye make-up, especially if applying mineral powders and shadows. Eye primers act as a base for eyeshadow, helping to prevent creasing and movement and can also boost the colour payoff, however organic eye primers are pretty few and far between.
