From The Vault: Organic Glam Concealer

As I have said (many a time before) my greatest frustration from a make-up persepctive is the overall lack of good, clean concealers. Actually there are two; lack of clean options and lack of variety in the colour stakes within them... This months delve into the vault looks back at one of the first concealers to make it into my kit.
Organic Glam Concealer

One of the more versatile brands when it comes to banishing those blemishes is Organic Glam. The Organic Glam concealers are available in two cute mini palettes, Light and Medium; each containing three shades and an under-eye highlighting cream.

Smooth and easy to apply (although when you first open a new palette you do need to work the product a little to get it going), they can either be applied with a brush or a finger and then followed by a light dusting of loose powder in order to set them. The concealers feel velvety soft and deeply moisturising on the skin and don't sit heavily on the skin.
The concealers are infused with tea tree and lavender to provide antiseptic properties and green tea, lemon and grape in addition to vitamins A, C and E to nourish and protect the skin. The highlighter contains light reflecting particles to create a luminous look and antioxidants green tea, lemon, eyebright and arnica to reduce puffiness.

When I am applying make-ups, it is important to me that I can mix and match colours and tailor them to the skin I am working on. Consequently, my only criticism of the Organic Glam concealers is that there is not a palette suitable for darker skin tones, although I am sure over time this will be rectified (I hope!).

I love creamy palette based concealers and favour them over more fluid tube based options. I love to mix and match, blending shades to create the perfect colour to hide a specific blemish or shadow and I feel that palettes and creams allow a little more freedom to do that.

I still have the Organic Glam concealer in my kit however I have to say that my feelings towards these little quads are waining a little.  They are very light in their coverage and although they can be built up, they are still only really suitable for use on very minor blemishes or under eye shadows as they don't provide enough coverage for deeper shadows, more severe blemishes or heavier duty work such as tattoo coverage.

Having had them in my kit for a while now, I would say they are are on the whole more suited to everyday beauty work than broadcast and I often find myself reaching for something extra to cover those stubborn blips and marks.

I am still on the hunt for the perfect clean concealer. It's like searching for the holy grail; fabled but as yet undiscovered...

The Organic Glam Mini Concealers are priced at £25.96 for a 4g palette.

  1. Ah, I've had my eye on this quad for a while now but since you've mentioned that the coverage is quite light, I might just give it a miss. I have terribly dark under eye circles and haven't found a "clean" concealer which has enough coverage to do the trick. The search continues :( xx

    1. Hi Jakhira
Sorry to blow your plans out of the water :( good full coverage concealers are really tough to find in the natural beauty world. There are some good ones with sheer coverage but as you say the hunt goes on... There is an excellent palette by Viseart but sadly they don't sell the shades individually - great for a Make-up Artist but not so good for the everyday consumer.
