Kjaer Weis Masterclass

Wednesday evening was me return to the natural beauty Mecca that is Content for a second organic make-up masterclass; this time with Kirsten Kjaer Weis founder of eco lux range Kjaer Weis.

I first came across the Kjaer Weis in Space.NK about four years ago (the line celebrates is fifth anniversary this year) and remember purchasing a single refill eyeshadow (Wisdom). I loved it and have since gone on to add more and more to my kit -  the foundations are a real staple

On a flying visit from Copenhagen, Denmark (she splits her time between there and New York), Kirsten Kjaer Weis popped in for a chat about her collection and some of the new products that are in the pipeline. Compared to last months RMS Beauty Masterclass (with the legendary Rose-Marie Swift), the evening couldn't have been more different. The principle was the same - an evening discussing the range, introducing new products and then some make-up applications (again I was asked to be a Guinea Pig - not a hard job I can assure you) and questions and answers, however the atmosphere was very different.

Softly spoken Kirsten exudes calm. She is (I may gush again) passionate about clean beauty and uncompromising when it comes to style and quality. She has a wealth of make-up experience and with an impressive catalogue of magazine covers and editorials for the likes of Elle, Vogue and Marie Claire behind her, along with a client list that includes Cindy Crawford, Helen Christensen, Esprit, Diesel and Shiseido, she knows her stuff when it comes to editorial make-up.

Kirsten began by giving us an introduction to the range and a bit of background on why and how she founded the company, the ingredients and manufacturing process. She then talked about her three latest lip tints; Amazed; Beloved and Rapture (launched last month) which were created in order to add some bluer toned products to the existing lip collection, the Radiance highlighter and the two new foundations (Silken; a yellow toned version of Paper Thin and Delicate; the first shade for darker skin tones). The latter had only arrived in the shop that day so aren't even on the website as yet!

Still to come this year (all being well) is a Bronzer (a stunning gold that I can't wait to get my hands on - I know, I usually hate bronzers!), five traditional bullet-style lipsticks (yippee!), a new eyeshadow and vibrant pink cheek tint (Poppy), a facial oil and two more foundations (entitled Lightness and Transparent) - phew!

2016 will also bring even more products to the KW stable along with the launch of a make-up remover! The new additions can be found in store and online at Content.

A massive thanks to Imelda and the team at Content for hosting another fabulous evening, I have my fingers crossed for many more.

Images: Yet again you will note that I failed to come up with any good images (I got so carried away with the moment I forgot to take them!) to document the evening - despite actually having my camera with me! Thankfully I have managed to nap one or two from my friend and fellow Make-up Artist Louise Dartford (thanks Lou :)
