From The Vault: W3ll People Universalist

This months trip down into the vaults sees me returning to a product that I once loved. So, what do I think now..?

W3ll People Universalist Multi-Use Stick

As you know, I love a multipurpose product and this one just doesn't fail, working pretty much anywhere. Universalist Multi-Use stick is designed for use as a highlighter, blusher, eye or lip colour - take your pick!

A thick, slightly dry and waxy consistency, Universalist sticks can be easily applied with either a brush or finger, however I do think that they work better having been warmed up on the back of the hand and worked a little before application, as this seems to benefit their ability to blend. Once applied, they look incredibly natural and are surprisingly sheer, enabling you to build up the colour as you desire.
Universalist has great staying power and being of a slightly waxy nature, water beads slightly on the surface rather than dissolving or moving the colour, so it would probably tolerate a certain amount of use on water-shoots (although I have as yet to test this).

Universalist is available in nine fantastic colours and two finishes; matte and luminous. There are five luminous sticks in the range; Pale Pink Glow (#1), Platinum Glow (#2), Mauve Rose (#3), Bronzed Rose (#4) and Golden Glow (#9) which give a soft radiant glow to the skin. These are complemented beautifully by their four matte counterparts; Creamy Cherry (#5), Creamy Plum (#6), Creamy Peony (#7) and Creamy Caramel (#8) which, although matte, still have slight light reflective qualities to them.

One of the great things about Universalist is their packaging, resembling a traditional pan stick, it is recycled and incredibly light-weight - meaning that you can easily have all of the sticks in your kit and not even notice!

Hands up. I admit that I haven't been using this stick quite as much as I should've. It has become a little side lined of late and I have more often opted for cream blushers or lip specific products when this may have well done the job - my bad!

That said, I still can't really fault it for universal appeal and handiness. It is a great product and I promise I will make a concerted effort to renew my relationship with this multipurpose gem.
