Back in December, whilst in the midst of working out what to buy people of christmas, I was worked on an E commerce shoot for fashion line Yumi, shooting the Spring/Summer 2015 collection - here is a little snippet of the make-up...
Working in collaboration with my old friend and fellow Make-up Artist Alexis Day, we created a fresh, bronzed but youthful look as per the brief. Radiant skin and a sun-touched glow were definitely the order of the day(s).
For those of you not in the know, E commerce (or e-com) is basically a photoshoot (studio or location based), the outcome of which is product shots for online content (i.e. online shops, websites and digital advertising). When it comes to a studio shoot, the make-up generally has to be pretty strong as the lights are usually heavy duty and so bleach out much of the colour. This shoot was very much once of those where I felt that I was completely overdoing the models and putting far too much make-up on the face (to my eye) but in the test shots, the make-up didn't look overdone at all - Always check what the camera is seeing!

For the life of me I can't remember every product I used (note to self: write them down or photograph them!) but I've mentioned a good few below...
Helen Dowsley Lashes |
I prepped the skin and applied Weleda Skin Food to the face and neck to put some much needed moisture into their winter ravaged skin. I then applied my beloved Kjaer Weis foundation before touching up any blemishes with a little concealer. Brows were tided and filled in and eyes were layered and lining with various brown, cream and gold Couleur Caramel shadows. A little contouring and highlighting added definition to the face and Earthnicity Minerals Blusher in (I think) Sorbet added a glow to the cheeks and the lips were filled with a peachy/nude lip colour and gloss. After curling the lashes were swiped with some mascara before I applied Helen Dowsley Pretty Girl Lashes for added va-va-voom.
