This months rummage through the vault looks at a product that is a mainstay of my male grooming kit and to be quite honest, often gets a run out on female make-up's too...

There are some products that just simply don't spring to mind when considering adding to your make-up kit and brow gels are probably one of those. It is a great addition, if often a little overlooked, taming those unruly hairs and (depending on the product) adding extra colour and defining the brow, helping you create that perfect arch.
With bold brows literally dominating many of the catwalks this season, now is the time to take control and put those brows in their place!
Lavera Style and Care Gel
Lavera Style and Care Gel is a transparent gel designed for defining and nourishing eyebrows and eyelashes.
Although it can be used as a clear mascara, I personally think it works much better as an eyebrow gel. It effortlessly glides through the brow, pulling stragglers into line and giving the hair a lovely natural and healthy looking shine. Style and Care sits very lightly on the hair, without that gelled brow look or feel.
Style and Care Gel is one of the mainstays of my kit. As a Make-up Artist you frequently are required to just tidy up an actor, consequently this is a great product to consider adding to your male grooming kit as it tames and tidies men's brows quickly and beautifully.
Packaged in a traditional tube, Style and Care comes with a duel ended brush, with the gel tube containing the mascara-style wand and the lid houses a handy brow brush, which is ideal for personal use rather than multi-person professional kit use due to hygiene.
There is a definite Lavera scent to the gel (if you are already a Lavera fan you will know what I mean here - apologies to those who don't); a slight floral, citrusy smell which, although not unpleasant, may be off putting to those who are a little sensitive to fragrance - especially if considering using it as a mascara rather than a brow gel.

I love this stuff and can honestly say that I have yet to come across a brow gel that I like this much.
As I mentioned above, Style & Care gel has a very natural finish and won't create a hard layer over the top the brow hair or give a greasy looking finish to the hair. It does leave a lovely, healthy looking sheen on the hair that looks great both on camera and on screen.
If you require a little additional colour in your brows, Lavera also produce a tinted version (in Hazel Blonde) of the gel. Believe it or not I have yet to try this but haven't really felt the need to give it a whirl as yet as I have been perfectly happy with the clear original version.
I don't know what more to say. I have at least three tubes of this stuff in various aspects of my kit and I think that says it all...
