We Evade Studio 78 Paris

With days getting warmer and distinctly longer, summer is beginning to feel as though it is just around the corner. With this in mind thoughts turn to summer wardrobes and the enevitable baring of pale winter flesh; this is turn to the need for products that add colour

With Bronzer it is important to apply it to the higher points of the face - just where you would naturally catch the sun. I apply a light touches to the forehead, nose, chin and cheekbones for a natural and understated look. A small wash across the collarbone and shoulders with a large fluffy brush can add some early summer colour too.

If I compiled a list of product types in order of preference, bronzers would be pretty low down the list. Bronzers are for me a product that is more often than not, over and/or mis-used; the vast majority have formulations which I find either too pigmented or are heavily reliant on glitter content to create their glow.

There are a couple of bronzers which I am fond and these do get pretty regular use in my kit but essentially I am very hard to please when it comes to bronzing products and it certainly takes a lot for me to take a liking to one.

We Evade Bronzing Powder in White Sand

We Evade is a baked bronzing powder (by baked I mean....) formulated using natural mineral and a blend of organic vegetable oils (including coconut, avocado and apricot). This blend of oils makes for a silky smooth power that goes on and blends easily whilst remaining in place for hours!

White Sand is the paler of two bronzing powders* from Italian natural beauty company Studio 78 Paris. Suitable for fair to medium skin tones, the colour is a soft and flattering bronze with not a hint of a sparkle (whoop whoop!). The natural looking radiance that this powder creates is produced by the high mica content rather than synthetic glitter particles.

Appearances can be deceptive and although seemingly light in colour in the pot, White Sand can pack a punch when loaded onto a brush - so make sure you tap off any excess before application to avoid streaking! Despite this potential for creating heavy lines, it is light in weight and doesn't sit heavily on the skin (if well tapped!).

The down side of this particular Bronzer is that is does have a lot of fallout. By that I mean when you swirl the brush around the pot, there is a large amount of loose powder particles gathering around the outer edges of the pressed dome. This doesn't seem to have a big impact on the length of time the pot lasts but it can be a little messy - and quite irritating!

I have used White Sand on both myself (I trial all products on myself before they make it into my kit) and as part of female make-ups for broadcast work. It looks great on a broadcast camera and equally so for daily wear.

*As yet I haven't tried the darker shade (Desert Sand) so am unsure as to how densely pigmented it is or how it looks on the skin.
