An poor nights sleep followed by an early morning train a couple of weeks ago caused me to call in a little extra help in a desperate bid to look somewhat human for work that day. Rummaging through my make-up bag I plumped upon this little tube...
INIKA Light Reflect Highlighting Cream
Light Reflect is an illuminating fluid designed to brighten and highlight. One of the first clean highlighters I introduced to my kit, this has been kicking around (not the same tube of course) for a good five years and it is an old favourite.
Unlike many highlighters which are pearly or cream toned in colour, Light Reflect is a beautiful peach-pink shade with shot through with gold. It looks great on both light and darker toned skins and the combination of mineral pigments and Mica give a soft, radiant finish.
Very light on the skin, the creamy fluid has a satin finish which blends seamlessly regardless of whether it is applied neat to the skin or over a base (don't apply over powder) and it doesn't appear or feel oily.
Applied along the cheek and brow bones, it gently highlights the face however when applied into the inner corners of the eyes, Light Reflect can really lift and brighten - I also love applying a small dot to the centre of the lid to really help open up the eye. It is also great for adding interest to the collarbone and shoulders and for accentuating a cupids bow - simple add a dot to the centre of your upper lip before applying lip colour.
I have used Light Reflect Highlighting Cream on both studio based photoshoots and during some of my broadcast work. It looks subtle on camera and can really help lift a complexion.
Price wise it is pretty good value for money because you need so little! INIKA light Reflect Highlighing Cream is priced at £17.00 (8g) and available from INIKA and Naturisimo.
Following a long battle with endometriosis and associated fertility issues, Miranda Bond made some significant changes to her lifestyle including cleaning up her beauty regime. A few months later she gave birth and resolved to help and empower other women control the toxins they put into their bodies and in 2006 INIKA was born. The multi award winning brand is free from (amongst many other things) petrochemicals and mineral oils, paragons, bismuth oxychloride, GM ingredients, alkyl sulphates and PEGS. It is cruelty and gluten free and suitable for vegans.
